Its slow rate of fire does put you at a disadvantage in close up encounters though, and it can rip through ammunition very quickly with only 20 round magazines, particularly if you are using a silencer, thus using more ammunition. It has good hitting power, good accuracy, and every attachment offers great benefits to it. The SCAR is a wonderful all-round assault rifle, in direct competition with the M16A4 and the M4 as the jack-of-all-trades rifle.
Not pressing the attack into the enemies face with the SMGs and the shotguns, and not hanging back with the snipers, but instead forming the foundation of your team, holding down choke points and delivering accurate firepower at medium ranges. It is best suited to a medium range assault role. However at medium and even close range, this rifle is extremely deadly. With its moderate recoil, sometimes it's tough to stay on a moving target. The SCAR excels in almost all combat situations with exception of extreme long range engagements.
